Jensen Huang Says New AI Models Will Boost Cybersecurity Demand

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said new AI models coming from AI labs will drive major demand for cybersecurity. Speaking at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology conference on Sept. 10, he framed security as a continuous AI use case.

Cybersecurity as the next major AI market

Huang said cybersecurity is getting attention because the industry is preparing to launch products, creating urgency around real threats. He also argued that software talent translates into better debugging, which increases demand for AI-enabled tools.

He added that “Cybersecurity will likely be the next major use of AI,” and that it will “run continuously,” creating a sustained business opportunity.

Executives expect AI to shape security strategy

A World Economic Forum report published in January found that executives expect AI to be the most consequential factor shaping cybersecurity strategies this year. Ninety-four percent of surveyed executives said AI will act as a force multiplier for both defense and offense.

The report also said generative AI is expanding the attack surface, increasing unintended data exposure, and enabling exploitation tactics that outpace purely human-led teams.

More complex attacks strain security budgets

The report described how AI challenges the economics of human-centered detection and response. That creates a more complicated capital allocation problem for organizations managing cybersecurity budgets.

It also cited broader shifts to the security landscape, including AI’s role alongside other emerging technologies in undermining assumptions behind the modern security stack.

IBM: security spending plans rising

IBM reported in July that after learning about the cyber capabilities of frontier AI models, a higher share of organizations planned to increase their security spending. The share rose to 85% in May, up from 64% in the period from March 2025 to February 2026.

IBM attributed the increase to organizations “becoming aware of advanced frontier AI cyber capabilities.”

Huang’s comments tie the next wave of AI model releases to a sustained expansion in cybersecurity demand. With executives already expecting AI to intensify both attack and defense efforts, security spending and strategy are likely to remain tightly linked to AI capabilities.
