Forus Raises $150 Million to Scale Agentic AI for Medical Prescriptions

Forus announced a $150 million funding round on September 8, 2026, aiming to expand how patients access prescribed treatments. The startup said its Series C values the company at $3 billion.

Series C values Forus at $3 billion

The company’s Series C round is set at a $3 billion valuation, according to a Tuesday (Sept. 8) press release. Forus said the funding will support bringing its product to new medical offices across the country.

Agentic AI coordinates the healthcare supply chain

Forus builds an artificial intelligence platform designed to coordinate the healthcare supply chain and streamline access to prescribed clinical treatments. The company said more than a third of patients prescribed complex or high-cost medications never receive their first dose due to administrative friction.

Forus said it addresses the issue by assigning each prescription an AI agent that works across drug, payer, and pharmacy networks. The agents are intended to act like case managers, reasoning through a patient’s medical history, insurance coverage, and financial situation, then taking steps through systems that still run on portals, documents, phone calls, and faxes.

Coverage across the US

Forus said it supports patients across all 50 states and reaches 85% of U.S. ZIP codes. The company added that each prescription helps its teams learn from new combinations they will encounter next.

Funding comes as healthcare targets friction points for AI

The new round arrives as healthcare companies apply AI in areas where staff strain, patient demand, and operational complexity overlap. PYMNTS reported in June that healthcare trails financial services in high-adoption tasks, with 10 healthcare tasks reaching that mark compared with 27 in financial services and insurance, while healthcare deployment remains narrower and focused on reducing friction first.

Why it matters

By tying AI agents to the prescription journey, Forus is pushing deeper into the administrative steps that determine whether patients get their first dose. The scale-up effort will test whether agentic automation can reduce delays across a fragmented supply chain.
