Everest Clinical Research acquires Firma Clinical Research’s Biometrics and Data Services unit

Everest Clinical Research (“Everest”) has acquired the Biometrics and Data Services business unit of Firma Clinical Research (“Firma DS”) to expand its biometrics and clinical data science capabilities. The deal adds an experienced biometrics team and aims to strengthen delivery across the US and Asia-Pacific.

Expanding biometrics and data science capabilities

Firma DS provides biometrics and clinical data services to biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, and diagnostic companies across the clinical development lifecycle. The unit has supported more than 1,000 clinical studies and over 60 New Drug Application (NDA) submissions across oncology, neurology, rare disease, hepatology, and nephrology.

Transition support and regional delivery

Everest said the acquisition will bring an experienced group of biometrics professionals into its global organization. Everest plans to strengthen delivery capabilities across the US and the Asia-Pacific regions, where clinical development activity is expanding.

Firma DS clients will transition to Everest with access to the company’s global delivery infrastructure and scale, along with advanced technology platforms. Everest also positions the combined offering as a single CRO partner covering regulatory strategy, clinical operations, clinical trial technologies, medical affairs, patient safety, and medical writing.

Backing from Arlington Capital Partners

Everest is a portfolio company of Arlington Capital Partners (“Arlington”), a Washington, D.C.-area private equity firm focused on regulated industries. Jin Dai, Chief Executive Officer of Everest, said the acquisition reflects investment in clinical data science talent and support for increasingly complex clinical development programs worldwide.

The move adds biometrics capacity to a full-service CRO at a time when sponsors are pushing for more integrated support across geographies and regulatory environments. For clients, the stated goal is continuity for Firma DS teams during the transition and access to broader end-to-end clinical development capabilities through one partner.
